Maclean Vets golf to Phil Hurst

On June 29 Maclean Vets played a single Stableford and the winner was Phil Hurst who came in with a great score of 40 points; r/up was Veronique Morgan with 37 points. Veronique survived a 3-way c/b with Greg Doolan and Richard Ross to claim her r/up prize. Greg got the free game and Richard a free golf ball. Others to win a ball were Patrick Vacchiano and Mark Hemmy – 35; Bill Rorke and Phil Smith – 34; Glen Crooks; Theo Sheppard and Chris Blackman – 33; and Matt Young and Wayne Hinchcliffe with 32 points.

Our last game was the monthly medal played on Monday July 6. We had another field more than 50 with the winner being Ian McFarland who finished with 36 points. Ian won the Spar voucher as well as the engraved pen; r/up was Kim Wiblen with 35 and in 3rd place was Gunny Dickenson also with 35.

Balls went down to 30 points with Greg Doolan fortunately claiming the last one.

It was nice of John Carlton to wear Veronique’s top to golf. Never know what he will turn up in next game.

Programmed games will continue to be shot gun starts at 8.30am while the alternate weeks there will be a time sheet for the 1st and 10th tees.
