Yamba Mixed Pairs & C Singles winners decided

Two championships were decided last Sunday with the running of the C Singles & Mixed Pairs finals.

The C Singles final was a keenly thought affair between Rod Berry & Phil Maddison with both playing good bowls in an entertaining affair before Rod Berry managed to claim this year’s title with a 25 – 16 victory.

Congratulations to both Rod & Phil on the fine display of bowls featured during the final.

In the C Grade Singles (l-r) Rod Berry was victorious over Phil Maddison.

The Mixed Pairs finale was taken out by the husband & wife duo of Tracey & Marianne Jenner with a sound win over Helen & Dave Atkinson by the tune of 30 shots to 5.

Whilst Tracey & Marianne proved too strong on the day Helen & Dave should feel proud of their effort in reaching this years mixed pairs final so well done to both teams.

The next championship now posted on the notice board is the Veterans Singles is an open event for both ladies and gentlemen.

The format for this event will be games of 21 ends and not the usual 25 up played in singles generally.

The first round for this event was to be November 12 but due to a visit from our great friends from Tweed Heads Travelling Bowlers on that date the first round will now be played on Sunday November 13 starting at 9am.

Monday October 31 saw Yamba Bowling Club host a RSL bowls day with bowlers from a large area of the north coast converging on Yamba for a day of bowls fun and mateship.
