Independent to resume its print edition

A statement from management

Expect to see the printed edition of the CV Independent back in circulation within the Clarence Valley – possibly as early as mid-June.

The Independent mothballed publication of the weekly printed edition at the start of the CORONA-19 lockdown and has concentrated on building up its digital and social media platforms.

That task has continued to the point that those sites are running above expectation and the decision was made earlier this month to begin planning for the reintroduction of the hardcopy version of the newspaper.

It has always been the company’s intention to resume publication of the printed edition once the COVID-19 situation became clearer. The COVID lockdown in NSW has eased, so earlier this week the CV Independent commenced notifying community contributors, asking them to consider resubmitting their regular weekly articles.

Yesterday’s announcement by NEWS Corp of the end of the printed edition of dozens of mastheads, to concentrate on digital editions in NSW and Qld, including the Grafton Daily Examiner and Coastal Views will have no effect on the CV Independent.

The CV Independent is an independent newspaper, and has no connection to NEWS Corp.
