Tennis club refreshed

Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan has inspected the work at the clubhouse of the Lower Clarence Tennis Association which was completed thanks to the help of a Government grant of almost $12,000. “The club house hasn’t looked this good since it was last painted 30 years ago,” Mr Hogan said. “And the new solar panels will help to keep costs down well into the club’s future.” “I would like to congratulate club secretary Peter Rose and the entire executive who have put in many volunteer hours for the enjoyment of its more than 160 members.” “The tennis club is a great asset that is regularly used by all sections of the community. It is important to keep it in a usable condition.” Club secretary Peter Rose said the installation of the solar panels and painting of the club house was the first of many plans for the courts. “We can now focus on building up our funds as in the future we would like to upgrade the courts and the lights,” he said.
