Lawrence community support

Since 1992 the Lawrence Fishing Club have been digging deep to raise support each year for the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter. On Sunday July 1, the Club presented a donation of $1,500 to bring their total support to over $27,000. Led by Lyn Morgan and Rick Reid, the Club and its members have continued to help the Service to save lives in the Clarence. In addition to the support of the Club, the community of Lawrence also plays a vital role to assist the Service through the local Lawrence Tavern raffles with a cheque for a further $1,500 donated on Sunday plus further proceeds of over $300 from the Tavern’s Anzac Day fundraiser this year. Regional Marketing Manager for the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter, Zeke Huish commented “It is always impressive when you see a small community such as Lawrence being able to raise such generous support”. “After speaking with some of the locals at the presentation, they were comforted to know that all support raised in our region, stays in our region and directly benefits the Lismore based Service which is there to support the Clarence and wider Northern NSW community” said Zeke.
