Smaller numbers for Palm Lake golf

It must have been the cool morning, but we could only muster eight golfers for our Stableford round last week. Even so, once started we had some good fun and some good scores.

Ken Hall won the day with a round of 20 points, after some weeks of a painful back and a compensating swing. Terry Wilson beat Denis Kelly on a countback for second place, both finishing with 19 points and the handicapper had little work as the rest of the group all finished in a cluster, either playing to or just off their handicap.

NTPs went to Ken Hall on the 10th and 12th, while George Key celebrated his birthday with a win on the 17th.

We are getting back to our normal routine this month and as there is some interest in a trip away, we’ll try to organise that as soon as the weather warms up – perhaps September.
