Grafton women’s golf

Wednesday September 2

Spring is in the air with 62 ladies out and about to contest an 18-hole Stableford last Wednesday with some good scores returned. 

Our overall winner Ann Gibbons with 45pts took the Green House Salon Sponsored event. A Fantastic round by Ann with the course drying out and mischief that could be had..

Div 1 winner – (also a  top round) was Kerry Harding with 39pts; r/up – Kathy McMullan 37pts c/b; 3rd – Sue Petty 37 pts; 4th – Robyn Wilkes 36pts. 

Div 2 winner – Marg Rickwood 38pts; r/up – Marg Manahan 36pts c/b; 3rd – Shirley Goodger 36pts c/.b; 4th – Del Burke also with 36pts. 

Div 3 winner – Di Alderman 36pts c/b; r/up – June Cavanagh with 36pts; 3rd – Gai Leeson 34pts; 4th – Sue Roberts 33pts. 

NTP’s: D.O.C’s 1st – (Holiday Coast Meats) J Burt; 6th – (M.J.O. Legal) Mary Atkins; 10th – (Clarence Valley Tyres) Gai Leeson; 17th – (Ford & Dougherty Property) Kathy McMullan. Ball competition score 34 c/b.

Friday September 4

With the temperature reaching 29 deg. Friday’s 18-hole Stableford was a very warm event for the 39 players that arrived for the day play.  A refreshment was needed after play to recoup the dehydration. 

Div 1 winner – was Kathy McMullan on 36pts with a c/b from r/up Kay Murdoch 36pts; 3rd – Jane Wolfe with 35pts.

Div 2 winner – with 36pts was Sue Byrnes; r/up – Jean Milne with 33pts on a c/b from; 3rd – June Cavanagh 33pts. Well played June, 2 placing in 2 rounds.

NTPs: D.O.C.’s 6th – Elain Shand; 10th – Judy Burt. Ball competition score 30pts c/b.

Saturday September 5

An 18-hole Stableford with 16 starters was played on Saturday. 

Visiting mum & dad were (Jean and Bill Dahl). Sue Reguson joined our ladies for a game and catch up, which always brings much fun and laughter. 

Winner of the day was Sharyn O’Grady with 35pts; r/up was the chirpy Chris Danvers on 33pts c/b and third also on 33pts c/b was Viv Nichols.  Some very close scores were returned for this round. 

NTP: 6th  (M.J.O. Legal) Heather Robinson. Ball competition scores 31pts c/b.
