Further upgrades for Clarence and Richmond Valley showgrounds

The Casino, Grafton and Maclean showgrounds which recently won more than $600,000 in extra funds have just received some icing on the cake with a further $75,000 in grants from the NSW Nationals in Government, Clarence Nationals MP Chris Gulaptis has announced.

“It turns out there was some money left in the pot and it is good to see our local showgrounds getting their share,” Mr Gulaptis said.

“It is great news for local small businesses including tradies and it’s great news for local jobs.”

$34,909 is being provided for Grafton Showground to replace old timber lighting poles in its showground ring and to install underground electrical wiring.

Maclean Showground will get $30,866 to improve safe roof access to its buildings by installing ladder points and anchor points.

$8,992 will be provided to Casino Showground to paint the exterior of its showground office.

This latest work follows the Nationals in Government’s decision in May to award $619,370 for improvement works at Casino, Grafton and Maclean showgrounds.
