Last Wednesday’s Yamba Ladies’ Presentation had a surprise in store for one of the club’s most respected players, Helen Collins, who has played golf at Yamba for the past ten years after moving from Queensland.

A valued member of Yamba Ladies Golf, Helen has played successfully in Div 1, won several Veterans’ prizes and has a collection of hat clips from Veterans Women’s Golf NSW for club events.

Helen went one further this year by winning the Senior Veteran’s prize for the coveted Mabel Mackenzie Brooch which is played as an 18-hole Stroke event in NSW. Local results from 140 country NSW clubs were submitted to Sydney and the best scores in three divisions, plus Senior Veterans, were selected to win at state level.

Yamba Ladies Golf is proud and thrilled that Helen has been named the 2023 Mabel Mackenzie Champion winner of the NSW Senior Veterans.
