With a course in excellent condition and the warm weather continuing, keen Vets golfers are still out there competing and enjoying their golf.

On Monday June 10, the game was a single Stableford and once again the men’s scores were very pleasing. Div 1 winner Dave Cruden came in with 38 points to win the day on a countback from runner-up Terry Winser. Harold Roberts carded 37 points to take out Div 2, with Ray Scovell in second with 31. The ball rundown went to 31.

Nearest to the pins were Terry Winser on 9th and Ken Hall on 12th.

The ladies’ winner was Lee Daley who came in with a consistent 34 points. The rundown went 30.

Nearest to the pins were Daphne Hinshaw on 3rd and Lee Daley on 9th.

The major raffle was won by Harold Roberts, with minor prizes going to John Ralph and Lester English. Visitors were welcomed from Glen Innes and Wantima golf clubs.

Our thoughts go out to Lucy Thompson, long time super vet, who has been sidelined.

Due to some special events on our course over the next few weeks, the Yamba Vets won’t have a competition until Monday July 1. New members and visitors are always welcome.
