Thursday’s perfect conditions saw 148 players grace our fairways with scores back in the high 30’s and some in the 40’s. A Grade winner and score of the day was semi retired champion Jamie Pengilly with 42pts, 2nd went to Anthony James with 40pts and 3rd was Graham Edwards with 38pts. A Reserve saw all three winners return 38pts with the count back going to Chris Bonner from Al Burke and Andy Wilson took 3rd. Mychael Mickelburgh won B Grade with 37pts 2nd went to Kevin Molloy with 36pts and 3rd place was Vic Heron with 35pts on a count back. Noel Collie was the winner of C Grade with a great 40pts on a count back from Michael Killeen and 3rd went to Peter Russo 39pts. Nearest to the Pins were; On the SeaFire Steak and Seafood 3rd Bradley Goss was 333cm, On the Peter Campbell Physio 9th Chris Holst 286cm, The SeaFire 10th Peter Auliff 106cm, Yamba Barber Shop 12th went to Terry Crowe 156cm and Terry also took the SeaFire 17th with 400cm. Balls went to 34 with 16 on the back. Saturday Stableford Only 117 played in Saturday’s Stableford competition with a few others contesting the singles match play round 2. A Grade winner was Luke Hitchings with 41pts from Barry Fisher 2nd on a count back from Matty McKee both with 37pts. Paul Reid took out A Reserve grade with 37pts Russell Cain 2nd with 35pts and 3rd went to Keith Cromack with 34pts on a count back. 38 Points and a great back 9 was enough to get Neil Drummond across the count back line in B Grade with Gordon Mumbles Wilson and Robb Hodson finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively. Johnny Ralf took out C Grade with 36pts from Ross Wilson 34pts and Michael Killeen 3rd with 33pts on a count back. Nearest to the Pins were; On the John Wright Pro Shop 3rd Col Lindsay 300cm, on the Peter Campbell Physio 9th Luke Hitchings 552cm Luke also took the SeaFire 10th 100cm, the SeaFire 12th was Paul Tarasenko 174cm, the Bean Scene 17th saw Rex Bolte hit his first good shot ever finishing 320cm and the 2nd shot 17th was Michael Killeen at 174cm.
