Yamba SLSC

It was a busy Father’s Day morning on Main Beach on Sunday with 50 patrol members undertaking the annual proficiency tests before volunteer patrols start on Saturday 19th September. Members were put through their paces in a variety of areas including resuscitation, spinal management, IRB skills, board and tube rescues and a run swim run test. The second and final proficiency tests will be conducted on Sunday 1st November. This Sunday, 13th September, 10am-11am, will be the first of three nipper registration and information sessions at the clubhouse as Yamba Nippers gears up for another exciting season on Yamba’s Main Beach. More registration and information sessions will be held on Sunday 20th September 10am-11am and Sunday 27th September 10am-11pm. Children must be 5 years of age before they can join as a nipper. All new registrations must show a birth certificate before registration can be finalised. Please enrol by 2nd October. Courses are free to all club members. Board training has commenced on Saturday mornings at 8am for seniors with Coach Joe Dougherty and Sunday mornings at 9am for experienced nippers under Coach Todd Ives. Yamba SLSC meat raffles are on every Saturday evening at the Yamba Golf and Country Club. Pat Ridgway, Ray O’Brien and Steve Pettet will be selling tickets from 5.30pm with the draw starting at 6.30pm. With 33 fantastic meat trays to be won, go along and try your luck!
