Yamba Lady Golfers

With the continuation of the beautiful May weather at Yamba Golf Course on Wednesday, 56 played in a Single Stableford when Carrie Aitken won A Grade with a convincing score of 40 points. Following Carrie was Trish McDermid with 36c/b. Jane Bonner was the winner in B Grade with 32 from Jenny Muir 31c/b. Balls went to 31c/b and NTPs were won by Kathy Parker – Yamba Medical Centre 3 and Yamba Fair Butchery 10, Dot Latham – Yamba Florist 3/2, Carolyn Chester – Yamba Pro Shop 9, Lina Holden – The Shoe Boutique 12, Jennifer Fagan – Clovelly Fashions 17 and Phyllis Telfer – The Block 17/2. Trish White was the leader in a field of ten 9 holers with 15 points, from Jenifer Moody 14. Nancy Risk was the winner of the nearest to the pin. Lucky card winners were Jenny Muir – Civic Video, Maggie Julian – Priceline Pharmacy, Di Sigle – Sweet and Spicy, and Irene Williams – Yamba Florist. The raffle raised a very strange amount of $116.90 and was won by Jenny Stratford. Four ladies travelled to Casino for its annual two-day Tournament and Yamba was well represented in the winners’ circle with Julie Campbell and Kathy Parker taking out fourth runners-up in the 2BBB Aggregate. Although not a prize winner due to the distribution of prizes, Julie also came 3rd in her division in the Single Stableford. On a heavy course on Friday, 36 contested the 3rd round of the 4/6 Single Par and Carrie Aitken was one again the winner with -1. Lyn Rowland was Runner-up -2 and Verna Wright 2nd Runner-up -3c/b. Balls ran to -4c/b and pins were won by Gwen Hall – Tom’s Chinese Restaurant 3, Trish Gosling – Retireinvest 3/2, Lina Holden – Peter Campbell Physiotherapy 9 and Wato’s Fish & Burgers 17, Penny Cope – Kitchen to Table 10, Jennifer Dewar – Yamba’s Fisho 12 and Judy Palich – Yamba Pharmacy 17/2. Saturday players numbered 11 and the field was led by Kathy Smail with a fine 38 from Sue Wilson 32. Kathy Parker was the winner of the nearest to the pin. Pauline McKinnon
