Yamba Golf Stableford

There were 135 golfers contested this week’s Stableford prize and with scores back to normal and the course playing long there were no standout 40 plus pointers unlike the last few months. One player finding it easy was the smooth swinging Harry peacock who eagled the 8th with ease. A Grade winner with 39pts was Barry Fisher, 2nd went to John Daley 38pts on a count back from Scott Stratford 38 for 3rd. A Reserve winner Doug Luckie returned 39pts, 2nd went to Rowdy Niland 38 and 3rd with 37pts was Dave Cruden. The winner of B Grade was Alan Syle with 38pts on a count back from Andy Law 38 and 3rd was Chris Durrington 37pts. In C Grade John McNamara returned 38pts giving him the win from Bruce Zietsch 36pts and Bruce Ginn was 3rd with 35pts. NTPs: Des Hall and Alex Podbereski on the SeaFire Steak and Seafood 3rd at 2.9m, the Peter Campbell 9th went to Dave Schwarz 138cm, the 10th SeaFire restaurant was Robb Robertson at 183cm, the 12th Yamba Barber Shop hole went to Ash Butler 228cm and the SeaFire 17th was the prize hunter Alex Podbereski at 291cm. Balls for the day went to 35 with 19 on the back. December Medal Round Saturday saw the running of the December Monthly Medal with only 129 players chasing the medal. A Grade Medal and his third for the Medal year went to Alex Podbereski with a great round of nett 67, 2nd went to Dave Cannon from Lismore with 69 on a count back from Greg Little 69 nett; the gross went to Alex with 75 hits. A Reserve medal was won by Max Sweetman with 68 nett, Gary Payne was 2nd with 69 on a count back from Kevin Lowe 69 nett and Kevin also won the Gross with 85 hits. B Grade winner was Larry McKenzie with a nett 67, 2nd went to Peter Blom 68 and 3rd was Bruce Turner with 69 nett. Peter Blom won the Gross with 88 hits. C Grade saw the Medal go to Laurie Arnott with 69 nett, 2nd went to Noel Collie 72 nett and 3rd was Terry Wilson with a nett 73. Biscuits also won the Gross with 99 hits. NTPs: Chris Holst on the John Wright 3rd at 164cm, the Peter Campbell 9th was Alan Syle at 456cm, the SeaFire Steak and Seafood 10th went to Kevin Lowe at 122cm, the SeaFire 12th was Wayne Rice 182cm, the Bene Scene 17th went to Alex Podbereski 137cm and the 2nd Shot SeaFire 17th was Terry Bull at 64cm. Balls for the day went to 74 nett with 38 nett on the back 9. Sunday Mixed Thirty six players backed up after the Christmas Party Presentation Night contesting the 2BBB v Stableford competition. The winners of the day were husband and with pairing of Susie and Jamie Stokes returning 48pts, 2nd went to Janelle and Guy Carpenter 46pts and 3rd were Prue and Keith James 45pts on a count back. NTPs: on the SeaFire Steak and Seafood 3rd Tony White and Robyn Brockwell, the 9th Kahbu Hair went to Bruce Lulham and Allison Caller, the Block Café 10th went to John Daley and Jane McCormack, the 12th Sassafras Pizza and Pasta hole was Bruce Lulham and Irene Williams.
