Tuesday December 1 Summer was certainly here on time last week with a very hot day for the start of December. Numbers were down due to the heat but we still had two games of triples and a game of pairs. Conditions of play was a lucky rink and the winners were A. Perkins and M. Toovey d J. McDonald and J. Pugh. Lucky losers were C. Morrison, H. Barnier and J. Solomon, they were defeated by F. Cannon, R. Foley and D. Lawson. Other result saw T. Shorten, A. Williams and J. Cooper d M. Wilkinson, A. Williams and J. Morrissey. Resting toucher was not won and the competition winners were M. Toovey [2], J. Pugh and A. Morrison. Thursday Twilight What a difference a week makes, so hot last Thursday and this week we were all looking for a coat to keep warm. Despite the cold everyone still enjoyed their game and the roast sandwich was well received when we came in. The winners were the Licorice Alsorts (G. Jones, M. Elliott and N. Mawhirt). Runner/up went to the Maltesers (K. Wright, H. Barnier and J. O’Brien). Lucky losers were the Violet Crumbles (K. Power, R. Ulrick and R. Power). Resting touchers were won by J. Pepper at 18.48 and Jake Kempnich at 18.49. The point score saw the lead change last week with the Snickers (B. Elder, A. Wright and A. Williams) gaining 8 points so this puts them 2 points ahead of last weeks leaders the Columbines (R. Macdonald, G. Cross and I. Macdonald). With 2 weeks to go there are quite a few teams within striking distance and any of them could win. Please remember our last Tuesday is December 15 and we will be playing for Christmas goodies, so come dressed in your Christmas gear and enjoy our last day before our Christmas break.
