Yamba Day VIEWS’ Big Day Out

cvreview-imagesc   What a success our movie fundraiser was. Firstly a big thank you to Debbie and the staff at Yamba Cinemas. Brilliantly run morning with a morning tea that exceeded expectations for those that attended. Such a variety from iced pink and blue cupcakes with baby paraphernalia atop, sponge kisses to some very tasty sandwiches and homemade sausage rolls. All who attended enjoyed and rounded it off with a cuppa. Raffle and chocolate wheel brilliantly run. There was even some keen competition for tickets as prizes were shown. Thank you to all those VIEW ladies that donated time, baked goodies and raffle prizes. The morning could not be the success it is without your contribution. Then onto the main event, Bridget Jones’s Baby. Well no spoilers, this is a fun movie to watch. This movie was like getting into some comfy clothes, slipping on those comfy slippers and curling up on the lounge with a hot choccy. Entertaining from the beginning till end. All funds raise go towards the three children we sponsor through The Smith Family ‘Learning for Life’ programme as we at Yamba Day VIEW believe that education is the key to a better future. Next luncheon meeting is on Monday, September 19 at the Yamba Bowling Club. It is ‘Back to School’. Principal Ann Dawson from St James Primary School, Yamba is our guest speaker. Some of the students will come along. I am sure we will notice a few differences from our school days. We wish those members that are not feeling the best a quick return to health. New members and guests always welcome. Bookings/apologies call Lyn on 6646 3164 the Friday prior. Beth Spence
