Yamba Country Music Muster

Big in statue and equally big in voice, our guest on January 10, Clarrie Hart, along with his wife Linda, certainly made themselves known and remembered at the Bowlo. Their lively presentation was very well received by all present, and I feel it will only be a matter of time before we see them back again, even if only in a walk up capacity, because as much as we enjoyed their contribution, they had an absolute ball and want to be a part of it again. Surprise of the day was the appearance of not only Lyn and Colin Johnson, but the entire Check2 Band. This was a delightful gesture on their part. Admittedly as part of a promo for our return bus trip, but we did not expect the whole crew to turn up. Further to this story our sincere thanks to the 27 Yamba people who did make the effort to attend the Lismore Country Carna, either on the bus or by private means. As I have stated previously, this inter club reaction is the life blood of all our clubs and has got to be encouraged whenever possible. With that line of thought, a bus trip to Ballina I feel could be our next outing. This coming Sunday February 28, following the six week break, what better way to get the ball rolling again than have Doug Liebke on stage. Certainly possessing one of the best voices and presentation in the Clarence area, our entertainment will be assured. Doug’s 35 minute time slots will be at 1pm and 3.15pm. No matter what your commitments may be, don’t miss these appearances. They will be something special. We are back on track with the Markets on early. Music at the Bowlo from noon till 5pm, usual lunch arrangements, bistro/ auditorium / coffee shop and the $5 entry includes an afternoon cuppa. But now, just when we thought all was again back to normal, we find the fourth Sunday in March clashes with Easter Sunday. The Club auditorium is not available that day, so there will be no Muster in March. Following this week’s program, our next schedule Yamba Country Muster is on April 24 with Marie Hodson as guest.
