Maclean District Historical Society Inc

The Stone Cottage and the Bicentennial Museum, Maclean is back in full swing, after the Christmas – New Year closure, during which, displays were changed and the Cottage linen and curtains were laundered. You can now view a large display of comics under glass. Also an interesting display of unusual items, such as hearing aid circa 1910; pea sheller circa 1920; bulls head can opener circa 1880; sugar shaver circa 1820’s and boudoir iron circa 1880. Another display shows items about the Maclean Brass Band, with the history of the band, in a book format. Our AGM will be held at the Museum at 9.30am on March 1. Come and join us. We have supported the Grafton Regional Gallery with some items for their jewellery display. The Royal Australian Historical Society Zone Conference is at Murwillumbah on May 7 and a Chapter meeting at New Italy on March 4.
