Yamba boxers impress at Kirra

Norm Harvey trained boxers fought well at title fights at the Kirra Sports Club last Saturday week. Harvey is a leading trainer in NSW and was very impressed with all his fighters. Yamba’s most improved fighter Ben Marsden won in of four round slug-fest with his Queensland opponent Cruso Bower, Ben was awarded the interstate heavyweight title. Luke Myer also impressed, giving away 10kg and stopping his Coffs Harbour opponent in the second round. Finn O’Neill also fought very well to draw with his more experienced opponent Jai Herse from Kingscliff. Troy Harding had to pull out of his superheavy title fight with the work-related injury to his hand. Daniel Austin was stopped by Queensland’s Shane Bloor. Bloor remains undefeated and is being considered for the Olympic train on squad. Sam Lollback another promising Yamba fighter was unable to be matched up on the night, but there will be another day for this dedicated young fighter.
