Williams eagles 4th at Yamba

A field of 127 contested this week’s Stableford competition with the shots of the day going to all round champion Sunny Bill Williams. Bill eagled the 4th hole giving him an extra 26 balls on his account. A Grade winner saw the welcome return to The Mexican man Al Morrison with 39pts on a count back from Scott Stratford with 39 and 3rd went to the inform Jamie Pengilly with 38pts. A Reserve saw Tommy Moore get up with 39pts from Rowdy Niland 38 and Don Roberts from Yowani was 3rd with 37pts. Lester English took out B Grade with 36pts on a count back from Bruce Turner and 3rd was Bruce Walker 34pts. C Grade winner and score of the day went to Harold Roberts with 42pts from Peter Russo 37pt 2nd, Noel Cowling finally returned a good score with 36pts giving him 3rd on a count back. NTPs: On the SeaFire Steak and Seafood 3rd Pip Dixon 99cm, the Peter Campbell Physio 9th was Jamie Pengilly 138cm, on the SeaFire 10th Al Morrison finished 122cm, the Yamba Barber shop 12th was Greg LaForest 330cm and on the SeaFire 17th Bruce Lulham was 132cm. Balls for the day went to 34 with 19 on the back. Tonkin romps in with 47 points Saturdays Summer conditions saw 121 players chasing yet another Stableford prize with the score of the day going to Pete Tonkin. Peter off 17 returned 39 hits on the front and 39 on the back giving him a massive 47 points. This score would have won him the gross in A grade and to top it off Pete only lost ½ a shot off his handicap. A Grade winner with 40 points went to Graham Kulmar, 2nd with 38 Points and no less than 6 threes stroke holes on the back 9 with an eagle on the last Daniel Kelly and 3rd was Pennant Captain Wayne Rice with 37pts. A Reserve of course was Peter Tonkin and 7 shots later was big John Maguire with 40pts and 3rd went to Dave Cruden with 38pts. Lester English took out B Grade with 38pts on a count back from Gordon Wilson and 3rd was Jim Cope with 36pts on a count back. The Don O’Brien was the winner of C Grade with 36 on a count back from Harold Roberts and 3rd went Laurie Arnott with 35 on a count back. NTPs: Roger Gathercole on the John Wright Pro Shop 3rd at 318cm, The Peter Campbell Physio 9th Andy Kelly was 309cm, Garry Payne won the SeaFire 10th at 90cm, The 12th was Albert Fox 50cm, the 17th Bean Scene saw Frankie Foxover at 94cm and the 2nd shot 17th went to Geoff Butler who holed out for 2.
