Verna Wright wins medal of medals at Yamba

Last Wednesday, 35 ladies competed in the annual Medal of Medals and the winner of the daily event was Judy Palich with a great 69 from Linda Duke-Yonge 70. Suzanne Scott was gross winner scoring 90c/b. However, the winner of the Medal competition was Verna Wright with 72 net. Congratulations Verna. Pro balls went to 76c/b and pins were won by Jill L Brown – Yamba Medical Centre 3; Payu Jupitit (recently upgrading from the 9 holers) – Yamba Florist 3/2; Sandra Wallace – Yamba Pro Shop 9; Judy Palich – Yamba Fair Butchery 10 as well as The Block 17/2; Di Sigle – The Shoe Boutique 12 and Lyn Rowland – Clovelly Fashions 17. There was no 9 holes event and the lucky draw winners were Jane Bonner – Civic Video; Jenny Macqueen – The Friendly Grocer’s hot chook; Margery Allison – Priceline Pharmacy; Robyn Brockwell – Sole Connection and Jeannie Doolan – Yamba Florist. Jennifer Fagan was the raffle winner. Forty two players took part in a Single Stableford on Friday and, with an amazing 47 points, the winning A Grade voucher went to Jeannie Doolan, with Di Sigle runner-up 40. B Grade winner was Jennifer Dewar 37 from Lynne Macfarlane 36c/b. Balls went to 35c/b, which shows that lately you have to at least play to your handicap to win a ball. NTPs were won by Daphne Hinshaw – Tom’s Seafood Chinese Restaurant 3, Jenny Dewar – Retireinvest 3/2 plus Yamba Pharmacy 17/2 , Virginia Moore – Peter Campbell Physiotherapy 9, Bev Wood – Kitchen to Table 10, Carolyn Chester – Yamba’s Fisho 12 and Janine Zeitsch – Wato’s Fish & Burgers 17.
