Squatters Rest

cvi   Visiting the Squatters Rest Museum is almost like stepping back in time, for real. The 16 old-style buildings on the property create an atmosphere of true Aussie bush life; vintage tractors, bicycles, engines, farm machinery and other rural memorabilia bring the finishing touches. The private museum is open to the public by arrangement. It is all about good old-fashioned bush hospitality at this unique outdoor historical attraction. Group bookings from ten to 150 guests are catered for with a guided tour to highlight the fascinating collection on site. Morning and afternoon teas, camp oven lunch and dinner are available. Monthly markets are held on the second Sunday of each month from 8am till noon. There’s no better way to enjoy the country atmosphere while browsing stalls, including gift ideas, bric-a-brac, cakes, fruit, veggies and jewellery. Squatters Rest Museum is situated on 23 Collette Street, Tucabia, NSW 2462. They can be contacted on (p) 6644 8076 and via (e) spigo@bigpond.com – www.squattersrest.com.au
