Tartan Brushy R.S.L Day Club

Tartan Brushy is well into its activities for 2016 and the last few meetings have been very enjoyable. Shrove Tuesday was celebrated with a pancake tossing competition. For Valentines Day members gave accounts of their first love. We were entertained by Janet and Mal Gallagher with some lovely songs. Kerry and Karen from C.V.C presented a very helpful talk about the community services available to those who needed help whether it be for inside the home or for other reasons. Seniors week is almost here and we hope members will participate. The Country Ramblers entertained us as usual on the last Tuesday of each month – the monthly birthday cake was shared and the trading table was well supported. We welcome back those members who have been on the sick list. Bill Venn sang for us and we had an extra voice – ‘Spencer’, Bill’s dog joined in for three songs. This was a source of great amusement. We were visited by five students from Cower Public School accompanied be their Principal. The children introduced themselves and told us of their special interests. They interacted with our members and were told about school days of long ago and the hard times that were experienced in wartime and the depression. They enjoyed playing Bingo at the end of the afternoon. We hope this will be a regular item for our club day and we thank them for their participation. We are looking forward to our first bus trip for the year, so please see Marie if you are interested. For enquiries about joining Tartan Brushy R.S.L.
