Saturday golf available to ladies at Yamba

Lady golfers are reminded that a competition is available at Yamba on Saturdays to Members and visitors alike. To play you need to be at the Pro Shop at 7.30am where you will be warmly welcomed by the ladies who regularly play in this event. Last Saturday’s comp of seven included a visitor from Burleigh Heads but the winner was Mary Hogan with 35 points. Mary has recently returned after nursing an injury for twelve months. Good come back, Mary! Julie Campbell was runner with a score of 32. Wednesday’s Single Stableford attracted a field of 54 and the winner in A Grade was Janelle Carpenter 36 from Janine Zeitsch 35 c/b. B Grade went to Kim Lipscombe 34 c/b from Jane Bonner 34. Balls were awarded to 31 c/b and NTP winners were Lynne White – Yamba Medical Centre – 3 and also Yamba Pro Shop – 9; Deirdre Gough – Yamba Florist Debbie May – 3/2; Lee Daley – Yamba Fair Butchery – 10; Jennifer Fagan – The Shoe Boutique – 12; Sandra Wallace – Clovelly Fashions, Maclean – 17 and Meg Kulmar – The Block – 17/2. There were six nine- holers on Wednesday and winning with 10 points was Judy Turnbull. Draw of the card winners were Sandra Wallace – Civic Video; Penny Cope (who is back from traipsing around South East Australia) – Priceline Pharmacy; Nonie Rixon – The Friendly Grocer; Jean Whitby – Yamba Florist and Paula O’Keefe – Anne’s Pearls. Jean Whitby also won the raffle. Among the 52 players in the Single Stableford event on Friday, Jean Whitby won A Grade with 36 c/b from Lina Holden. B Grade winner was Penny Cope 37 and Jennifer Dewar was second with 36. NTP winners were Lee Daley – Tom’s Chinese Restaurant 3, Gail Scobie – Retireinvest 3/2 and also Yamba Pharmacy 17/2, Paula O’Keefe – Peter Campbell Physiotherapy 9.2, Dale Ramm – Kitchen to Table 10, and visitor Margaret Dawes – Wato’s Fish & Burgers 17/2.
