Yamba Thursday Golf

There were 157 players who graced our fairway last Thursday with plenty of visitors still enjoying our beautiful Course and Club. In A Grade Chris Holst found some form returning 41pts, 2nd went to Jamie Pengilly who shows that playing every day helps with Jamie returning 39pts and 3rd was Andre Rizk with 38pts. A Reserve winner was Ross Allomes with 41pts from Des Hall 38pts on a count back from Garry Payne 38pts 3rd. B Grade saw David Lewis from Coraki take home 1st with 42pts, 2nd was Czes Czarnota with 41pts on a count back from the in-form Larry McKenzie 41pts. C Grade went to Bill Elliott with 38pts on a count back from John Dwyer 38 and 3rd was Ken Lillie 37pts. NTPs: SeaFire Steak and Seafood 3rd Graham Kulmar at 278cm, the Peter Campbell Physio 9th went to Greg Wyllie at 116cm, the SeaFire 10th went to Garry Payne 24cm, the Yamba Barber Shop 12th went to Richard Beresford 54cm and the 17th SeaFire Steak and Seafood hole went to Jamie Pengilly at 150cm. Balls for the day went to 35 with 17 on the back 9. Saturdays Stableford Only 133 players contested the Saturday Stableford event with the shot of the day going to big hitting Kiwi Steve Baker holing out on the 9th. The three winners in A Grade all had 40pts with the count back going to the man who does the count backs, captain Glenn Scarffe, funnily enough, 2nd went to Andrew Kelly and 3rd place went to Greg Wyllie. A Reserve was won by Sunny Bill Williams with 39pts on a count back from Des Hall (2 seconds in 3 days) and 3rd went to Max Sweetman with 38pts. B Grade went to Bruce Ginn with 37pts from Mick McCormack with 36pts and 3rd was Phillip McDougall with 34pts. C Grade winner was Ardy Dennehy with 41pts from Ray Scovell with 38pts and 3rd went to Cliff Wood with 35pts. Nearest to the Pins were; On the John Wright Pro Shop 3rd Clayton Hope 322cm, the Peter Campbell Physio 9th was of course Steve Baker hole in one, the 10th SeaFire Steak and Seafood hole was Max Sweetman at 205cm, the SeaFire 12th went to Wayne Rice 168cm, the Bean Scene 17th went to Greig Little 388cm and the 2nd shot 17th went to Chris Sharp at 515cm. Balls for the day went to 34 with 20 on the back. Sundays Medley 2 Person Ambrose Only 16 players played this competition with the winning team of Dave Bruton and Kim Lipscombe returning 68.75 Nett, 2nd went to Kay and Peter Caller returning 69.5. NTPs: Gabba Bodycote on the SeaFire 3rd at 500cm, the SeaFire 12th went to Peter Caller at 1400cm. Balls went to 70.75 on a count back.
