Representative honours for Jorden Elabbasi

Congratulations to Yamba SLSC Nipper Jorden Elabbasi who was selected as part of the Far North Coast Branch U14’s team. The team will compete against all other branches in NSW in Cape Hawke on 12-13th December Gracie Pitkin, swimming off 110 seconds, narrowly beat big brother Will Pitkin, off 140 seconds, for first place in Sundays Carl Schaeffer Handicap Swim. Kim Morgans, off 90 seconds, placed 3rd. Race co-ordinator Belinda Sanders will see you all this Sunday at 11am for the 11.30am race start. Well done to the small group of senior competitors who competed in the craft carnival at Ballina on Sunday. Strong wind made the conditions tough, but it was still a successful day for the Yamba team. It was 1st place to the Open Ski Relay of Harry Fahey, Kealy Day and Mike Gilliman. In the individual Ski Races, Mike Gilliman placed 1st in the U19’s and Harry Fahey placed 3rd in the Opens event. The Opens Board Relay of Mike Gilliman, Peter Rheinberger, Kealy Day placed 3rd and in the Over 30yrs Board Race it was 1st to Peter Rheinberger and 2nd Todd Ives. A final proficiency for patrol members and water safety personnel is being held Sunday 29th November. Any members who have not yet completed their proficiency MUST attend. Please contact Club Captain James Ryan with any questions. Nippers will be on at the normal time of 9:30am this Sunday. U7’s parents are on setup and pack up duties. Please be at the beach by 9am to help. There is a small but mighty group of children attending the FNC Junior Branch Carnival at Lennox Head on Sunday. Good luck to all competitors. We will be cheering you on. Byron Bay will be hosting a Teams Carnival on the 29th November. If your child is interested in attending please let either Simone or Andrea know on by this Sunday. First aid courses are being run at Shelley Beach in Ballina on: 19/12; 20/2; 16/4. Closing dates are 2 weeks before course begins but you would be wise to enrol (through the Yamba office) ASAP.
