  Maclean’s Lower Clarence Scottish Association is gearing up for the 2016 Highland Gathering which promises to be a spectacle not to be missed. Callum Beaumont is the special guest for the 112nd Maclean Highland Gathering on March 25-26. Callum is the winner of some of the most famous prestigious competitions in world piping. He was the youngest ever winner of the prestigious Clasp at Scotland’s Northern Meetings and includes in his long list of achievements Three World Pipe Band Championships. He is regularly commissioned to tutor in Australia, New Zealand and the United States. This year’s festivities start with the Piobaireachd and open Piping in the Civic Hall at 6pm, and the Ceilidh in Maclean’s McLaughlan Park on Friday 25 at 7.17pm. Saturday’s packed program begins with the Pipe Bands On Parade through the streets of Maclean commencing at 8.30am on Saturday followed by a full day of Band, solo Piping and Drumming competitions. The Highland Dancing competitions and traditional Highland Games flow through to the spectacular finale Massed Bands. Visitors from all over Australia and New Zealand are promised an event to be remembered.
