More power bill help during Coronavirus crisis

Clarence and Richmond Valley families finding it difficult to pay their electricity bill can now get more help thanks to a new $30 million investment by the NSW Nationals in Government, Clarence Nationals MP Chris Gulaptis says.

“We know many people are getting paid less and finding it harder to make ends meet because of the coronavirus so we are turbocharging a program called the Energy Accounts Payment Assistance scheme,” Mr Gulaptis said.

“If you are worried about paying your bill, please contact Service NSW on 13 77 88 or at www.service.nsw.gov.au and ask for an energy voucher assessment.”

The maximum voucher value has been temporarily increased so people can receive up to $400 per assessment twice per year, compared to the normal amount of $300.

To be eligible, applicants must hold a Commonwealth Seniors Health Card and be the primary account holder named on the electricity bill.
