Maclean Vets Golf
There was a field of 34 golfers who hit off in beautiful conditions. The event was a single Stableford which was won by Geoff Greenwood who came in with a well compiled 41 points.
Geoff hadn’t been playing too well for a few weeks but he certainly turned his form around here especially on the back 9 where he had 23 points. Runner up and wearing a black armband after Souths loss at the weekend was Richard Parker with 39 points and winner of the free game was club president Paul O’Halloran also with 39 points. Club balls went to Wendy King, John Parkes, John Gorman and Stewart McDonald, all with 37 points and Gai Greenwood, Di Moore,Barry Connelly, Mark Hemmy and Graham Roberts – all with 36 points. Nearest the pins were won by Marlene Roberts and John Phillips on the 2nd, Di Moore and Doug Hudson on the 7th, Mark Hemmy on the 11th and Mike McGowan on the 17th. We also welcomed three new Vets to our playing ranks in Wendy King, Stewart McDonald and Paul Moore (who had to set the alarm to make sure he made his tee off time). Next game on April 11 is the monthly medal and the registration sheets for the Woodenbong Open day are on the notice board. In the next 5/6 weeks the committee will be busy getting ready for our own Open Day on May 16. We will need lots of helpers so if you can assist in any way at all just let any member of the committee know.
