Maclean Vets Golf

Maclean Vets played a two ball aggregate last Monday with a good field of players enjoying the competition. The winning pair were husband and wife team Paula and John O’Keefe. In second place was Mark Hemmy and Doug Hudson while third place went to Bruce Johnston and Graeme Lloyd. NTP’s – 2 hole – Di Moore and Mark Andrew, 7 hole – Tina Hogg and Graham Roberts, 11 hole – Graham Roberts, 17 hole – Ivan Weber. Thanks must go to Peter Hamilton, Bruce Johnston, Bruce Wiseman and Graeme Lloyd for organising and cooking the BBQ on the day, our new caterer had not begun at the club so these boys stepped forward and fed the starving throng. The feedback about the food from the players was excellent but fortunately for these four guys they can return to full time golf next Monday as we welcome our new caterer to the club. Our next game will be a single stableford on Monday 7 December, be at the club house to register at 8am, followed by a draw of the cards at 8.15 and a shot gun start at 8.30. A reminder that the Christmas golf/lunch will be held the following Monday 14 December (off golf week). We will be playing an 18 hole ‘red ball’ event followed by lunch. Please put your name down on the sheet at the clubhouse if you are attending for catering purposes. The usual starting times apply. We will also have our normal competition day on 21 December, usual starting times apply. Maclean Vets fortnightly comps will continue throughout the festive season so why not come out and play at Maclean? The course is in excellent condition and the club is always happy to welcome visitors everyday. Remember we have a nine hole chook run each Monday and Tuesday all day and a TGIF 9 hole par 3 event on Fridays after 2pm. You have the opportunity to improve your short and there are some good prizes available for both competitions. Megan Walsh
