Maclean Ladies Golf

Last Wednesday, September 2, Maclean Ladies played their annual President vs Captain vs Par and the President’s team won! Thanks to Vice President Jill for her great leadership on the course. Forming the President’s team were Jill Schipp, Di Moore, Chris Powell, Molly Plunkett, Pauline Ryan, J Studdon, S Fong Kee, Cathy Ayres, Val George, Tina Hogg, Kate Hemmy and Edith Piddington. Kate Hemmy had the best score of the day, a great +6. NTPs went to Pauline Ryan on the 2nd, Liz Pearcey on the 17th, Pat Harris on the 7th and Molly Plunkett on the 11th. The first of the September birthdays were announced, Di Moore, Margaret Hirst, Liz Pearcey and Tina Hogg, we welcomed new member Sally Weekes and Edith Piddington, who has not been at golf for some weeks back into the fold. We also welcomed the representative of the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter to whom president Jenny presented a cheque for the proceeds of our recent successful trading table. On Friday the committee met to do the draws for our Two Day Tournament to be held on Monday and Tuesday, September 14 and 15. Although we have good fields on both days, post entries will be accepted. So come along and join in the fun that a ladies Tournament at Maclean can bring. Today’s ladies competition at Maclean is an 18-hole stroke, our Golf NSW Goodwill Plate event, and is sponsored by Mary Moore and Pat Harris and next Wednesday, September 16, we are playing an 18-hole single stableford sponsored by the Maclean Flower Box. The Club’s Monday and Tuesday Chook hunt events are still ongoing as is the 9-hole TGIF event on Friday afternoons. Friday evening fill the fridge raffles are also continuing and are still coupled with the great bistro meals provided from Tara’s Kitchen. Our new Facebook page is well worth a look (and a like) and keep watching for our new look Website which will be launched in the next week or two. Jenny Apps
