A new member, Kathy O’Keefe, has been welcomed to the Maclean Lower Clarence Hospital Auxiliary.
The stall at the recent Maclean markets raised a total of $475. The raffle was won by Sue Strip from Melbourne who was holidaying at Brooms Head and whose husband had to spend the night at Maclean District Hospital. She told the auxiliary that they really enjoyed the prize.
Nurse Manager Tara Chambers told the meeting that the Emergency Department has been busy with all the holiday visitors and treated seventy patients on one day. The hospital’s accreditation is due in October and the staff are already preparing for it. Simon Fenn, the Imaging Manager across the Clarence plans to attend the next meeting and speak about the ultrasound machine. A new quote of $148,000 has been received and the treasurer reported that $62,000 has been raised so far.
Member, Veronica Watts, was presented with a certificate celebrating her 80th birthday. Allen Bell was absent but will receive a certificate for his 90th birthday.
