Maclean Bowls Fours and Triples nominations open

Nominations for Club Open Fours also the B and C Grade Singles close on Friday January 22 at 6pm. Sheets for these are on the board. Nominations for the District Fours and Triples closed on Tuesday 12. Clubs to be informed of the playing dates and venues with the draw as soon as it is done by the District Match Committee. Our District is also committed to participating in the State Mixed Pairs championship competition this year. Entry sheets are on the notice board and they close on March 11. Play will begin at District level on July 3 at Yamba club. Pennant trial games are being organised for the following dates: (all are home games) 1 -Thursday January 21, 5pm (in house match); 2 – Saturday, February 6, 1pm v Yamba; 3 – Saturday, February 20, 1pm v Grafton; 4 – Thursday, February 25, 5pm (in house); 5 – Saturday, March 5, 1pm (in house). A sheet is on the board for players who are unavailable for any of these dates. On the social bowls front we have the first trip away for Terry’s Travelling lads on this Sunday January 17 to Ballina RSL. The bus departs our club at 7.15am on the day. Our No.1 Green returned to play from renovation last Wednesday. It played well with a good cover on the surface. Players are asked to keep traffic off the edges as much as possible until they harden up. Australia Day bowls: A sheet for nominated Triples (any gender composition) is on the board. Dress is neat casual (Australiana theme) attire, start time is 1pm and fees are $10 per player. Visitors are always welcome to sample the hospitality of our Club and play social bowls any time.
