The Lawrence Fishing Club supported the ‘RFS Get Ready Weekend for 2023’. This was a NSW wide event with the local Lawrence Rural Firefighters taking part.  

The event was held at the Lawrence Hall car park on Saturday September 17. The event had a free sausage sizzle, events for the children and opportunity for chatting with the firefighters and even a photo shoot with the big fire truck. 

Loving Life FM radio station was transmitting live as well. So, it was a wonderful opportunity to say thank you to the local firefighters that have worked so hard to help keep us and our properties safe. 

Our own local Lawrence Fishing Club made a donation to the RFS of $500 to help them in a small way to continue to help keep us safe. The President Warren Bancroft made the donation with members of the club in support surrounded by some of the local RFS team. We hope they do not have to work so hard this year to protect our community and we are all safe from the ravages of the bushfires of the past.
