Latest technology for Harwood School

Federal member for Page Kevin Hogan MP visited the Harwood Island Public School on Monday this week to announce a $15,500 grant which will allow the school to purchase new Information and Communication Technology Equipment (ICT).

Mr Hogan said that all schools across the electorate were encouraged to apply for this funding to make improvements to their school environment.

“I’d like to congratulate the Harwood Public School, on receiving the $15,500 grant to buy some interactive boards,” Mr Hogan said.

“This was a competitive grant round, where we had more applications than what we gave out.

“Harwood’s grant was for some Interactive Teaching Boards, very new age things which will be great for the students.

“It’s important that our small rural schools have the same opportunities as those in the city,” he said.

Principal Lisa Bevan said that they were very pleased to receive the grant which will bring their technology into where it should be for their students.

“It will keep us in line with the city schools and we’re very appreciative of the money.

“Small schools don’t get a lot of money so these grants are vital for us,” she said.
