Last weekend 13 members headed to Kempsey Dragon Boat Regatta.

Our rowers displayed a great effort in the 1km team pursuit just being pipped by less than a second for the bronze medal. The ‘Battle of the Guns’ saw our old gun Robert’s team just beat our new young gun Bryce’s team.

After all this serious competition some members then set off to the Christmas markets and just happened to discover the local Bucket Brewery (it was on the same road).

On Sunday our ladies combined with Rainbows (Ballina region) to take out silver in the women’s sport 20’s – well done ladies considering we haven’t paddled together as a team before; this was a great result.

Thanks, Marianne, for getting us organised leading up to and over the weekend – not an easy task at times.

Training as usual this week – Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from the rowing club.

Saturday December 10 will be our Christmas paddle from Waterview and across the river into Carr’s Creek. It’s then back to the farm for a hearty BBQ breakfast and some Christmas fun – please register via team app or advise Leanne for catering purposes – partners welcome.
