Seasonal time to see Christmas magic in Ulmarra

Emma Pritchard

Tis the season to head to the riverside community of Ulmarra on December 10, when the village hosts a magical Christmas evening.

Featuring plenty of seasonal festivities including a beautiful Christmas light display, live entertainment, and delicious food, visitors will also have the perfect opportunity to find the ideal gifts for friends and loved ones, with local boutique stores and businesses along Coldstream Street remaining open until 8pm.

An estimated 500 people from across the Clarence Valley and further afield attended the event last year, with many vowing to return in 2022, including a very special guest.

When contacted by the Clarence Valley Independent, the busy elves of the North Pole happily confirmed Santa will be visiting Ulmarra again on the weekend.

“Santa had such a wonderful time at the magical Christmas evening in Ulmarra last year when he was kindly invited by the members of Ulmarra Village Inc, he has decided to make a special guest appearance again this year,” they said.

“He is looking forward to catching up with all of his friends from the Clarence Valley as he prepares to make his annual trip around the world on December 24.

“Santa will also be bringing a few extra special presents with him, and he hopes to see a large crowd on Saturday as he spreads some joy and Christmas cheer to one and all.”

Along with meeting Santa, the magical Christmas evening is also an opportunity for visitors to experience the riverside charm of Ulmarra, shop locally, and support local retailers.

The elves of the North Pole said it will also be “a chance for Santa to buy a Christmas present for Mrs Claus.”

“All of the shops sell a range of locally made arts and handicrafts, as well as local produce,” they said.

“We will be reminding Santa to bring home a special gift from the Clarence Valley for Mrs Claus.”

The magical Christmas evening in Ulmarra will run from 4-8pm.

Everyone is welcome.
