The Iluka Ladies have finished their competition games for 2015 and a big thank you and congratulations must go to our committee ladies for their hard work during the year and the very successful end of year functions. Monday night November 23 saw the biggest crowd we have had for many years at the Presentation dinner. Most of the presentations were made between courses which kept the evening moving, so that there was plenty of time for drinking and dancing before the last bus left just after 11pm. It was agreed a good night was had by all the ladies. Everyone fronted up again on Wednesday November 25 for the 9 hole two person Ambrose once again kindly sponsored by Wendy and Paul King. The winners were two 9 hole ladies, Cheryl Kelly and Colleen Hacher who played a lovely round in the heat. We will be looking for them to join the 18 holers next year. Runners up were Gloria Bird and Lynn Briggs, not far behind them. Sadly, the best decorated buggy couldn’t make the distance and the players had to be rescued by another buggy – the sparkling decorations and flashing lights must have been too much for it. The golf was followed by a lovely sausage salad prepared by our regular chefs on these occasions, Dallas and Peter – many thanks to you both. The large number of raffle prizes were drawn while we enjoyed some strawberry cream sponge and we all went home with a party bag of lollies – a fitting end to the golfing year. Sunday January 3 will be the Marine Rescue Charity Day – a four person Medley Ambrose and in between these dates there are plenty of games in which the ladies can join.
