Saturday April 16 saw great conditions for the 3rd Round of the Men’s Golf Club Championship, proudly sponsored by the Cazlet family. Thanks Jim, Sandra and Adam. A great score of 63 nett by Norm Reeks took out the day followed by Graeme Lynn with a fine 67 nett. Robert Kay had 68 nett for 3rd place on a count back from Simon Farrell who eagled the 13th Hole. NTP’s – 1/10 A Skinner; 6/15 B Twaddell; 8/17 Macca. Ball run down to 71 nett. The Specs Savers award went to Gordon Farrell with a nett 82. Sunday April 17 the Iluka Golf Club members contested for the final round of the Men’s Club Championships. Thanks to the sponsors Maurice Watt & Reece Oates. Robert Kay played some grinding golf to produce a fine 66 nett and win the day, followed closely by Gordon Farrell who was 14 shots better than Saturday with a nett 68 on a count back from Sam McDonald also with a nett 68. The Bradman’s trophy was won by Matt Campbell with a nett 84. NTP’s – 1/10 Macca; 6/15 Gaz Freeman; 8/17 Bob McFadden. Ball run down went to 72 nett. Congratulations s to the new 2016 Iluka Golf Club Champions: A Grade – Simon Farrell; B Grade – Robert Kay; C Grade John Williams. Thanks to all green staff and particularly all the volunteers.
