Great scores at Yamba golf

167 golfers took part in the midweek Stableford event at Yamba Golf & Country Club on Thursday.

The southerly wind was blowing extremely hard, making the first four holes a real test of a golfer’s skill in hitting the ball low and straight. The conditions did not seem to bother most of the voucher winners, with scores being much better than in recent weeks.

Wayne Rice continued his good form to take out A Grade with 41 points from Stephen Graham (39) and Greig Little (36 c/b). Best round of the day was recorded in B Grade when Danny Quin returned 42 points to win. Andy King (38) and Marty Tishler (37) filled the rest of the placings.

It was good to see Terry Wilson return to the winning list in C Grade with a fine round of 41 points. Ian Francis and Mick Florrie both scored 40 points and visited the countback to determine the voucher order.

Perry Robinson wins Stableford event
