Braves flourish in warm weather

A large group of Bravehearts players assembled at 8.30am last Tuesday week at Maclean Golf Course for the Stableford challenge on the first nine holes.

The top scorers were in the close chase for the prizes.

Quiet achiever Andrew Radcliffe (h/cap 16) closely attended by his 2 four footed amigos was in great form, posting a solid 19 points on his way round. A well-deserved winner of The Hidden Gem Claret; second was Gaz Taylor (h/cap 14) with the sum of 18 points largely due to his lowest (for the day) putt total of 15 which included 4 successful singles. He won the Caper berry Cafe $20 anytime meal voucher; third place was shared by Mick Florie (h/cap 36) and John Hopkins (h/cap 25) taking home the pale ale and the deluxe chocolate chip biscuits (he donated back).

The NTP’s were contested closely with Denise Patten closest on the 2nd hole and Mick Florie best on the 7th both using their allotted 2 shots.

Prizes included pomegranate tea and Yamba Cinema pass.

Amazing news…Trevor Wright, despite his absence on the leader board, was lucky enough to draw the King of Clubs from the reduced pack to claim the prepaid golf lesson. Yes, you guessed it, he is planning on a putting lesson to cure his main golfing nightmare…. short gettable one putts!

Many thanks to our sponsors and remember, we welcome all grades of golfers to challenge us next Tuesday at 8.30am MGC… see you there.
