Great day for golf and Yamba SLSC members

The weather was glorious and there was a great turn out of some of Yamba’s finest Golfers for the Yamba SLSC and Lions Club Annual Charity Golf Day on Sunday! Thank you to all sponsors, players and helpers who made this a successful event. Winners of the major raffle were: J. Marshall, 18 holes of golf for 4 people at Sanctuary Cove, with thanks to Paul Sanders. T. McIntosh, 32 inch TV with thanks to Cummins Electrical Leisure Centre. Andy, 95L Esky with thanks to the Pacific Hotel. R Schofield, 1 rug, with thanks to Coulters Carpet Court. P. Ross, 18 holes of Golf for 4 people with cart hire, with thanks to Yamba Golf and Country Club. D Robertson, 1 night accommodation at the Moby Dick Waterfront Resort, with thanks to Moby Dick Waterfront Resort. M. Garcia, a Fishing Adventure with thanks to Reel Time Fishing Charters. S. Watson, $50 voucher at Seafire Steak and Seafood Restaurant with thanks to Yamba Golf and Country Club. H. Hamilton, $40 Harwood Hotel Restaurant voucher, with thank to the Harwood Hotel. G. Ray, $40 Beachside Bargains Voucher with thanks to Beachside Bargains Yamba. Proficiency tests will be conducted on Sunday 6th September. This is compulsory for all patrolling members, competitors and water safety personnel. Please report to assessors in the upstairs of the clubhouse at 8.30am for a 9am start. A Bronze Medallion course and Surf Rescue Certificate course will commence on Sunday 11th October. Please enrol by 2nd October. Courses are free to all club members. Board training has commenced on Saturday mornings at 8am for seniors with Coach Joe Dougherty and Sunday mornings at 9am for experienced nippers under Coach Todd Ives. Yamba SLSC meat raffles are on every Saturday evening at the Yamba Golf and Country Club. Anne and Brian Jones and William Onslow will be selling tickets from 5.30pm with the draw starting at 6.30pm. With 33 fantastic meat trays to be won, go along and try your luck! Yamba SLSC Office hours are Monday and Tuesday 9- 12 noon and Friday 2pm-5pm. Kerry Lee
