President Alysan welcomed members to the annual Christmas luncheon at Vines at 139. She thanked Fiona Duggan and Vanda Geremia, who stepped in to assist in organising the luncheon due to the unavailability of our social events coordinator.

Members enjoyed a very well presented two course lunch comprising lamb/chicken with vegetables followed by plum pudding/pavlova. Interspersed between the courses members were entertained by a number of recitals from members of the poetry group and a range of lucky doors prizes were drawn over the course of proceedings. In addition, decorated Christmas hat competition entrants paraded their wares, and the winner was Anne Van Ash with an elaborate creation. Led by an enthusiastic choral group, members also joined in a rendition of Julie Andrews seniors’ parody of My Favorite Things from the Sound of Music.

Alysan acknowledged members of the committee for their contributions during 2023, thanked group leaders for their dedication during the year and thanked members for their support of Jabberfest and course/group activities. She expressed thanks to Erin Brown and her team at Vines at 139. In closing she wished members a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
