Grafton Senior Citizens – December meeting

Grafton Senior Citizens, December meeting saw an attendance of 37 with four apologies.

Guest speaker, Chris Sparks, spoke about his life, which began in Bristol, England, then Cornwall and London, before moving to Sydney. He met and married an Australian. He learnt to fly and became a flying padre at Broken Hill. He had a three-year break during which time he drove buses, before moving to ministry at Yamba in 1990, and he remained in the Clarence in retirement, although he still does casual work. 

Sick – best wishes to Tom Cashel. Deceased – sister of Max Lawson. New member – Welcome Sondra Ible.

Trips: Tickets to Bellingen in February are now on sale, but more bookings needed. Tickets for the March trip to Murwillumbah area and the 8-day tour to Narrabri, Dubbo, Tamworth areas in August, will go on sale in new year. Other trips will be put on sale progressively. 

Certificate of Year was presented to Gloria Watters.

All activities, finished on December 16, and the group will have a 4-week recess. Most activities will resume the week commencing January 16.

Fees can be paid at February meeting. 

There is no meeting in January. Next meeting is Tuesday, February 14, when the guest speaker will be Mayor, Ian Tiley.
