Families urged to claim $150 back to school vouchers

Parents can now claim $150 worth of Back-to-School vouchers for each of their children, Clarence Nationals MP Chris Gulaptis has announced.

“We know families are under pressure with cost-of-living pressures and Christmas expenses, but the NSW Government are doing everything possible to ease the squeeze on the family budget,” Mr Gulaptis said.

“The NSW Government’s new Back to School program supports every NSW schoolkid to the tune of $150 for textbooks, uniforms, stationery and other school essentials.”

Mr Gulaptis said the initiative not only helps families but also Clarence and Richmond Valley small business.

“But you have to be in it to win it and I urge local businesses to get online with Service NSW and register as a supplier, because I want them, not BigW, to cash in,” Mr Gulaptis said.

The Government initiative is expected to pump $193 million into the pockets of parents and ultimately businesses.

Mr Gulaptis said parents and carers have until the middle of next year to claim the bonus but urged them to apply as soon as possible.

“Applying for the vouchers is simple and can be done in a matter of minutes using the Service NSW app, on the phone or by visiting a Service Centre,” Mr Gulaptis said.

The Back-to-School NSW program is one of more than 70 government rebates and vouchers available through the Savings Finder program.
