Grafton’s Harveys Jewellers has been judged as one of buying group Showcase Jewellers’ best. The Grafton store was one of five finalists selected from about 270 stores across Australia and New Zealand for the buying group’s ‘Member of the Year’ award, which was presented at a gala dinner held in Sydney on Friday August 26. Proprietor Des Harvey said it was a “great honour to be selected by industry peers”. He praised his staff, “who are our most important asset”, for their “outstanding” contribution towards gaining the accolade. He said that the stores are judged across criteria such as training of staff and customer service. Although the winner owned seven stores in metropolitan Victoria, Mr Harvey said he was “hopeful that 2017 might be Harveys Jewellers’ turn”.
