Deano Hayes is another who won both the August and September Mugs with scores of 64 & 66 nett. However you cannot discount our current Club Champion, Matthew Worthing who took out the March Mug with 67. Another player who must be considered a contender is Super Vet Jack Harvison, who claimed the December Mug with 65 nett. Other Mug winners who have qualified include Luke Worthing, (January), Grant Titman (February), Andrew Fletcher (April), Nick Fuller (June), and Danny Li (October). Danny has already qualified for the 2016 Gold Mug play off by winning the November Mug. The play off for the various silver medal grade winners will also be held on Saturday. Last Saturday’s Grafton Truck & Trailer 18 hole Stableford, produced one of the more popular winners for the year, when Veteran Kevin Vaughan (23) with 42 points, to lead the 106 starters on the day. The countback procedure had to be employed in D Grade and as a result Brian Hewitt (24) was rewarded the win from Les Jordan (27), both players recording 38 points. Allan Wade (21) claimed 2 nearest the pin trophies. On the Par 3, 6th his shot finished 187cms from the cup and on the 10th put his tee shot just 297cms away. The Pro-Pin went to George Cowan with his shot finishing just 283cm. In the Pro-ball run down 11 players finished on 34 points. However only 3 of those players received a pro-ball for their efforts as well as everyone with 35pts or better. On Friday 4th December, the T.G.I.F Group will be conducting their final outing for the year, play to commence with a shot gun start at 11.30am. Prior to tee off time, a card draw for partners will be held with the odd social “getting to know you” drink of some kind. Locally, all players are reminded that the annual major Greens renovations will commence which may result in some changes to regular playing conditions. The renovations, subject to weather conditions should be completed during that week. Ray Hopwood
