Grafton CWA

Grafton branch held their AGM on Friday October 11 at 10am, in our Duke Street rooms.

Mrs Leonie Fish South Grafton Evening Branch president supervised the election of office Bearers for 2019/2020. The results are as follows:

President – Carol Smith; secretary – Sharron Davison; treasurer – Annette Douglas; international officer – Barbara Redigar; handicraft officer – Ruth Melouney; land cookery officer – Narelle Saunders; ag & environmental officer – Lesley McFarlane; publicity officer – Carol Smith; vice president – Nola Horricks.

CWA ladies have been busy selling raffle tickets in Grafton Mall King Street, fund raising for the ongoing drought relief. We will be selling tickets in Grafton Mall on October 16, please come along and support our farmers. 1st prize – $100 gift voucher for a coloured print donated by Harvey Norman; 2nd prize – basket of assorted jams, pickles, and honey; 3rd  – basket of crafted articles; 4th – $40 Coles voucher; 5th – $30 gift voucher Harveys Jewellers. All monies raised goes to our farmers for ongoing drought relief.

On Saturday November 16, CWA ladies will be back at the showground markets as a further fund-raising event. Our ladies will be busy making small and medium size Christmas cakes, home-made biscuits and scones, and Christmas handicraft. Please come along and support us.

Our next meeting will be held in our rooms on Friday November 8, at 9.30am in our Duke Street rooms.

Our handicraft friendship mornings are held on the second and fourth Monday of the month at 9.30am. Come and join us and enjoy morning tea and a chat. All ladies who may be interested in joining us will be made most welcome.
