GDSC Women’s Bowls

It was nice to get back to our normal bowling day after our big week last week with our Jacaranda Carnival. Before we started on Sunday, we played a spider and this was won by J. Solomon. Conditions of play today was lowest winning margin and the winners with a margin of 3 were D. Mason, M. Elliott and N. Mawhirt def J. McDonald, J. Cooper and J. Weatherstone; F. Cannon, B. Donohoe and B. Murray were runners up with a margin of seven, they def F. Cannon, J. Solomon and L. Demmery. Lucky loser was M. McClaer and D. Rapley def by M. Firth and A. Williams. Other result saw R. Foley, A. Bowling and D. Lawson def C. Morrison, J. Morrissey and L. Robertson. Competition winners were B. Donohoe, M. McClaer, R. Foley and C. Morrison. Thursday November 12 This was the first night of our Twilight competition and it was lovely to see over 60 players out on the green enjoying their game and with lots of laughter, that’s what it’s all about. The winners were the Red Frogs (K. Pepper, J. Pepper and K. O’Meara). Runner up was won by the Clinkers (F. Cannon, J. McPhee and B. Williams) and the consolation went to the Jaffas (D. Allison, M. Buckley and B. Buckley). Resting toucher went to D. Allison. The three lucky ends were 7, 8 and 14 and that saw the Jelly Babies (K. Johnson, O. McDonough and E. Johnson) get off to a flying start with 8pts, and the Violet Crumbles (K. Power, R. Ulrick and R. Power) with 6pts in second place. Don’t forget our combined Christmas Party and Presentation night is on Friday 4th December 6.30pm for 7pm start, the cost is $25 and there is a sheet on the men’s and ladies board for you to put your name down, and this must be paid for by the 27th November so that numbers can be given to the caterers. A reminder also to put your name on the list for Pennants, we have entered two teams for 2016 in Grades 2 and 4. Pennants has been set down to commence on March 8th. Kitty
