Friday November 13 – Men’s Mixed barefoot bowls: With the special mixed bowling tournament coming up Saturday 14th, just two rinks played Friday games. The results of these were as follows: Rink (1) – B Kenny, M Bettison & A Bunn d S Scott, J Flaherty & B Essex 22-13; Rink (2) – J Pye (Swinging Lead), L Perrett & L Bond d J Pye (SL), L Andrew & G Kilkduff 26-14. Winning Rink (1) – B Kenny, M Bettison, A Bunn. Resting Toucher – L Perrett. Chook Ends – End 8 M Bettison, End 14 L Bond. No Jackpot won. The final of the SGMBC Mixed Pairs was played out last weekend. Congratulations to Candy Nixon & Dan Barker, 2015 Mixed Pairs Champions in defeating opponents, husband and wife team Lynn & John Betts. Good play from all, with the final close score resulting in C Nixon & D Barker 24 d L Betts & J Betts -22. Saturday November 14: saw the playing of the inaugural South Grafton Men’s Mixed Triples. With a full Green comprising both home and teams entered from all over the District the day boded well to be a good one. The weather too played it’s part, just sprinkling a bit throughout the last game after lunch but overall pretty good. Some really good play throughout the day but there has (of course) to be an eventual winner and we’re proud to say our inaugural winners of this competition were a South Grafton team. Sunday November 15: saw the South Grafton Bowling Sports and Recreation Club’s AGM held and it is with pleasure we welcome new President SGWBC member Enid McKew. Congratulations also to our new Vice President SGMBC member John Betts. Two very hard working people who I have no doubt will do our Club proud. Along with returned Board members, Robin Hodge, Gwen Ryan, Denise McLachlan & Warren Powell; welcome and congratulations to Peter Desborough & Larie Preston newly elected Directors. Good to see our Past President Robin nominate for and win a place as Director after giving tirelessly to the club over the past few years. Wouldn’t be the same without you Rob. Good stuff. D McLachlan
